Waddle Vision & Aim

Waddle’s vision is to raise awareness of Spina Bifida & Hydrocephalus in Northern Ireland.  Waddle will ‘Walk & Paddle’ 100 miles coast to coast from Carlingford Lough to Portstewart Strand in aid of the life changing work of the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, and the Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (ASBAH).

Waddle aims to encourage Northern Ireland society to pause, think and to be truly inclusive by changing attitudes and removing physical barriers which prevent disabled people living their lives to the full.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Charities

The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children is the only dedicated Children’s Hospital in Northern Ireland providing specialist care for seriously ill children and support for their families across all six counties.

ASBAH is the leading UK registered charity providing information and advice about Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus.  ASBAH's vision is a future where everyone with Spina Bifida or Hydrocephalus can get the most out of life. www.asbah.org

Where does your Money Go?

Every penny donated to Waddle goes directly to both the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and ASBAH. For maximum security we use ‘Just Giving’ to manage online donations.

All internal administration costs are paid for by Waddle participants meaning no money is diverted from the charity fund to cover running costs.

Waddle has opened a multi signatree Club / Organisation Account for processing Cash and Cheque donations. This account will be audited at the close of the event by:

J.R. McKee and Co. Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors

What is Gift Aid?

Waddle can benefit from Gift Aid. Gift Aid is an easy way for charities to increase the value of gifts of money from UK taxpayers by claiming back the basic rate tax paid by the donor.

With money raised on the Charity Diner night through a special raffle we have also purchased and presented a 2 man sea kayak to the Belfast Activity Center. The primary usage will be with the BAC Access-ability project and we hope that it will bring much happiness in the years to come for children of all abilities.
